A shocking murder incident has been reported from Odisha’s Bhadrak district, where a 24-year-old youth, identified as Srikumar Swami, was allegedly stabbed to death by a group of attackers late on Sunday night. The incident took place at Gunthunia Bazar under the Bhadrak Town Police Station area.
According to reports, Srikumar was at home watching a World Cup cricket match when he received a phone call from some youths asking him to come outside. Unaware of the danger, he stepped out of his house to meet them. Shortly after, the group allegedly attacked him with a machete and other sharp weapons.
The assault left Srikumar with multiple severe injuries across his body. He was critically wounded and bleeding heavily after the attackers fled the scene. Family members and locals immediately rushed him to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead on arrival.
The victim’s father expressed deep grief and demanded strict punishment for the attackers. He stated that the accused should face severe consequences for their actions, adding that Srikumar was his only son and the family depended on him.
Following the incident, police started an investigation and detained three suspects for questioning. Authorities are currently probing the motive behind the attack and further details are awaited.
