Panic swept through the Digapahandi block of Odisha’s Ganjam district after a youth allegedly entered a house late at night and attacked a woman and her two daughters with a sword in Kandaswara village.

According to preliminary information, the accused barged into the house during the night and carried out the attack, reportedly due to a longstanding personal dispute. The incident sparked fear and tension among local residents.

Victims Rushed to HospitalAll three victims sustained serious injuries and were immediately shifted to Berhampur Medical College and Hospital. Hospital sources said they were later discharged after receiving treatment and have since returned home.

Accused DetainedPolice rushed to the spot after being alerted and launched an investigation. The accused, believed to be a resident of a neighbouring village, has been detained and is being questioned in connection with the incident.

Probe UnderwayA detailed investigation has been initiated to determine the exact motive behind the attack. While a personal feud is suspected, police said further questioning of the accused, victims, and local residents is underway, and more details are expected to emerge.
