Aryna Sabalenka Crushes Iva Jovic 6-3, 6-0 to Reach Australian Open Semi-Finals

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka defeated 18-year-old Iva Jovic 6-3, 6-0 in the Australian Open quarter-finals, maintaining her quest for a third title in four years. She will next face Coco Gauff or Elina Svitolina in the semi-finals.

Aryna Sabalenka continued her dominant run at the Australian Open, defeating 18-year-old American Iva Jovic 6-3, 6-0 in the quarter-finals at Melbourne Park. The world number one, who won the title in 2023 and 2024 and was runner-up last year, showcased her power and consistency to overpower the teenager in straight sets.

Sabalenka quickly surged to a 3-0 lead in the first set, applying relentless pressure that Jovic struggled to counter despite moments of strong court coverage. The second set proved even more one-sided, with Sabalenka breaking early and converting multiple break points to seal the victory in dominant fashion.

Speaking after the match, Sabalenka acknowledged the challenge posed by young opponents, saying, “Don’t look at the score — it wasn’t easy at all. She played incredible tennis and pushed me to raise my level.”

With the win, Sabalenka advances to the semi-finals, where she will face either Coco Gauff or Elina Svitolina, keeping her hopes alive for a third Australian Open crown in four years.
