The world number one, who won the title in 2023 and 2024 and was runner-up last year, showcased her power and consistency to overpower the teenager in straight sets.
Sabalenka quickly surged to a 3-0 lead in the first set, applying relentless pressure that Jovic struggled to counter despite moments of strong court coverage. The second set proved even more one-sided, with Sabalenka breaking early and converting multiple break points to seal the victory in dominant fashion.
Speaking after the match, Sabalenka acknowledged the challenge posed by young opponents, saying, “Don’t look at the score — it wasn’t easy at all. She played incredible tennis and pushed me to raise my level.”
