Bhubaneswar Winter Chill Eases as Daytime Temperature Crosses 30°C
Residents of Bhubaneswar are enjoying relief from the winter chill as daytime temperatures crossed the 30°C mark for the first time this season. With the Sun’s northward movement, the city recorded a maximum of 30.2°C on Sunday, signaling a noticeable rise in mercury and easing the cold conditions. Night temperatures are also trending upward, providing relief from the early morning chill.
According to the Meteorological Department, active western disturbances are bringing warmer, moisture-laden winds into the region, reducing the intensity of cold. Night temperatures are expected to rise further over the next few days.
Rising Temperatures Across OdishaThe warming trend was observed across several parts of the state on January 18. Jharsuguda recorded 32.1°C, Paralakhemundi 31.8°C, Sundargarh 31.6°C, Nabarangpur 30.8°C, and both Titlagarh and Bhawanipatna 30.5°C. Meteorologists forecast that minimum temperatures may fluctuate by 2–4°C across Odisha in the coming days.
Foggy Conditions to PersistDespite the rise in temperatures, fog is likely to continue in districts including Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Kalahandi. Authorities have advised residents to exercise caution during early morning and late-night hours due to reduced visibility.
The recent temperature rise has brought temporary relief from winter across Bhubaneswar and other parts of Odisha, even as residents remain advised to stay alert to fog and changing weather conditions.
