Blake Lively–Taylor Swift texts revealed in Justin Baldoni lawsuit over It Ends With Us

Unsealed court documents in Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against Blake Lively have revealed private text messages between Lively and Taylor Swift, shedding new light on the behind-the-scenes controversy surrounding the film It Ends With Us.

Private text messages exchanged between Blake Lively and pop star Taylor Swift have surfaced in newly unsealed court filings connected to actor-director Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively. The legal dispute stems from tensions during the production ofIt Ends With Us, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel.

The documents, submitted by Lively’s legal team to a federal court in New York, form part of an ongoing legal battle that began after Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, retaliation, and fostering a hostile work environment on set. Baldoni has strongly denied the allegations and responded with a countersuit accusing Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and several associates—including Swift—of defamation and extortion.

Among the most notable disclosures is a message suggesting Swift had advance knowledge of a December 2024New York Timesarticle concerning Baldoni’s conduct and his alleged withdrawal from promoting the film. In one text to Lively, Swift remarked that Baldoni appeared to sense that damaging information was about to emerge.

The court records also reveal that Swift joined Lively in a meeting with Baldoni at Lively’s New York apartment to discuss a revised version of the film’s script. Messages show Swift expressing support for the rewritten draft and encouraging Baldoni to proceed with directing it. Following the meeting, Lively praised Swift’s involvement, calling her “epically heroic,” and said she relayed the details to Reynolds.

While Lively’s attorneys have publicly denied claims that she relied on Swift’s influence in shaping the film, the messages indicate that the two remained in close communication throughout the dispute. Swift and her representatives have previously maintained that she was not directly involved in the conflict, though the released texts suggest otherwise.

The filings also reference efforts by Lively and Reynolds to rally support from other high-profile Hollywood figures, including Matt and Luciana Damon, to back Lively’s creative vision for the project. Baldoni’s legal team alleges that Reynolds made disparaging remarks about Baldoni during this period, claims that remain contested as the case proceeds.
