The Education Department has suspended two teachers following a physical altercation inside Kirba Primary School in Burla, Sambalpur district, which occurred in the presence of students. The suspension came after a video of the incident surfaced on social media, prompting authorities to take strict action.
The Dhankauda Block Education Officer issued the suspension orders based on an inquiry report submitted by the Additional Block Education Officer.
Incident Caught on CameraThe clash took place on January 15 and involved teachers Sharmishtha Pallai and Kasturi Jena. The altercation was recorded by students on their mobile phones and went viral, bringing the incident to public attention. During the confrontation, one teacher reportedly sustained facial injuries and was bleeding.

Assistant Block Education Officer Ramesh Kumar Mishra confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway and a comprehensive report will be submitted to higher authorities for further action.
