A tragic road accident in Odisha’s Rayagada district claimed the lives of three people and left another critically injured after two motorcycles collided head-on on Tuesday. The accident took place near the Durgi Jagannath Temple under the Bissam Cuttack police station limits along State Highway No. 36.
According to police, the impact of the collision was extremely severe. Two victims died instantly at the scene due to critical injuries. Another injured person was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but later succumbed to injuries, raising the death toll to three.
One more person sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, where doctors say the victim remains under close observation. After receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the accident site, recovered the bodies, and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
Authorities said further inquiry is underway to establish the circumstances that led to the fatal head-on collision.
