IMD Forecasts Dry Weather in Odisha for a Week, Warns of Morning Fog in Coastal Districts

The India Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather across Odisha for the next seven days. However, shallow to moderate fog is likely during early morning hours in several coastal and south coastal districts, which may affect visibility and traffic.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dry weather conditions across Odisha for the next seven days, while cautioning residents about shallow to moderate fog during early morning hours in several districts, especially along the coastal and south coastal belt.

According to the latest IMD bulletin, foggy conditions at isolated places may reduce visibility during early hours, potentially impacting road traffic and morning travel plans.

On Day 1 (up to 8:30 AM on February 9), shallow to moderate fog is very likely at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, and Puri districts, while dry weather will prevail elsewhere.

Fog is expected to continue during early mornings on Days 2 to 5 (February 9–13) across parts of South Coastal Odisha, including districts such as Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Puri, Khordha, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati. No rainfall activity has been predicted during this period.

For Days 6 and 7 (February 13–15), the IMD has forecast dry weather across all districts of the state, with no fog or rainfall warnings issued.

Meteorological officials have advised commuters, particularly early morning drivers, to remain cautious due to reduced visibility in fog-affected areas. Farmers and outdoor workers have also been advised to plan activities accordingly. No weather warnings have been issued for Odisha during this forecast period.
