The government has detailed the timeline of the Baramati plane crash that claimed the lives of Maharashtra Deputy Minister Ajit Pawar and four others. The aircraft, VI-SSK, first contacted Baramati ATC at 08:18 IST. After an initial failed landing attempt, the crew initiated a go-around. On the second approach to Runway 11, the aircraft was cleared to land at 08:43 AM but did not read back the clearance.
At 08:44 AM, ATC observed flames near the runway threshold. No Mayday call was received during the landing attempts. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has taken over the investigation. Emergency services responded immediately to the crash site.
