China on Thursdayaccused the United States of misrepresenting its defence postureto thwart improving ties between Beijing and New Delhi, rejecting suggestions that it was seeking to use easing border tensions with India to blunt the growth of US-India relations.
Responding to a question at a press briefing, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said China views its relationship with India from a strategic and long-term perspective. According tonews agency Reuters, Lin underlined that the boundary dispute is strictly a matter between the two neighbours and said Beijing "objects to any country passing judgment on this issue".
