Cuttack | January 14:Speculation continues to grow over whether renowned singer Arpita Choudhury will be implicated in the Human Sagar death case and what the future holds for music director Somesh Satpathy’s anticipatory bail plea. Both accused have received interim protection from the Odisha High Court until January 16, leading to widespread public discussion and anticipation.
Another key question is whether Human Sagar’s mother will present her arguments before the High Court on January 16. Legal experts opine that even if anticipatory bail is granted, the court may impose strict conditions through the lower judiciary. The issuance of notice to Human Sagar’s mother indicates that the complainant may present additional evidence before the court—information that may not have been included in the original FIR.
Meanwhile, the police investigation has progressed significantly. As per the FIR registered at Mangalabag Police Station in Cuttack, almost all accused individuals have already been questioned. Investigators have obtained Human Sagar’s bank details, which could expose the full scope of financial transactions and reveal critical evidence.
However, a major point of concern remains whether the police will be able to submit the case diary to the High Court by January 16 while the investigation is still underway.
It is noteworthy that Human Sagar passed away on November 17 while undergoing medical treatment. One month and four days after his death, his mother, Shefali Suna, lodged a complaint at Mangalabag Police Station. The FIR alleged that Human Sagar was subjected to mental harassment, forced to sing under pressure, and that his earnings were misappropriated.
Based on these allegations, singer Arpita Choudhury, music director Somesh Satpathy, and seven others were named as accused. Initially, there were concerns over police inaction despite the seriousness of the case. However, following the High Court’s directive to submit the case diary, the police have shifted into action mode.
All accused have since been summoned and interrogated. The investigation now largely hinges on uncovering financial transaction details. Once these are thoroughly examined, it is expected that the complete truth behind the case will come to light.
