The newly shared clip, which revisits the film’s title announcement video, has sparked fresh speculation about the exact release date.
The film, starring Mahesh Babu in the lead alongside Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, was recently in the spotlight after reports suggested an April 9, 2027 release, coinciding with Ram Navami. The latest post on X appears to strengthen these claims. The clip features visuals referencing Treta Yuga, Lanka Nagaram (7200 BCE), showing sequences of war, Hanuman, and a powerful chorus chanting the name of Rama.
This imagery has led fans and trade analysts to believe thatVaranasiis indeed being positioned as a Ram Navami 2027 release. Industry buzz suggests that the makers may officially announce the exact release date on January 26 via social media.
During the film’s title glimpse event in November 2025, Rajamouli revealed that a crucial Ramayana episode has been filmed in Varanasi (Kashi). He shared that the team spent nearly 60 days shooting the sequence and confirmed that Mahesh Babu will be seen portraying Lord Ram. The filmmaker spoke emotionally about his lifelong connection to the Ramayana and Mahabharata, describing the experience of bringing these epics to the screen as deeply spiritual.
Rajamouli also recalled being overwhelmed when Mahesh Babu first appeared in Lord Ram’s look during a photoshoot, calling it a moment that gave him goosebumps. The director noted that while Mahesh carries the charm of Krishna, he also embodies the calmness and grace of Ram.
