Delhi Police have arrested a self-styled tantrik, Kamruddin alias “Baba”, in connection with the deaths of three individuals whose bodies were found inside a parked car in Peeragarhi. The accused, a resident of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh, allegedly used poison-laced ladoos to kill his victims under the pretext of performing tantric rituals and offering spiritual healing.
The victims in the Delhi case — Randhir (76), Naresh Singh (47), and Laxmi Devi (40) — were discovered inside their car on a flyover. Investigations revealed that Kamruddin had accompanied them and allegedly offered sweets mixed with poison. Preliminary findings suggest the victims consumed the ladoos shortly before their deaths. A murder case has been registered, and forensic examinations are ongoing.
Police have linked the Peeragarhi case to similar incidents in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, and Dholpur, Rajasthan. In Firozabad, two individuals reportedly died after consuming poisoned sweets given by the accused. Another murder case was registered in Dholpur under similar circumstances. Authorities suspect that the total number of deaths connected to Kamruddin could be at least six.
According to a complaint filed in May 2025, the accused allegedly lured victims by claiming expertise in tantra-mantra and exorcism. He reportedly promised to solve personal problems through rituals, during which he administered poison disguised as prasad. Police are coordinating across states to investigate whether more cases are linked to the accused.
