The second phase of the Odisha Legislative Assembly Budget Session begins today and is expected to witness intense debates between the ruling party and the Opposition. Key issues such as mandi irregularities, the Mahanadi water dispute, and law and order are likely to dominate the discussions.

The second phase of the Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to commence today and is expected to witness intense political activity inside the House. Similar to the first phase, the proceedings are likely to see heated debates, sharp exchanges, and possible disruptions between the ruling party and the Opposition.

Political tension is expected to remain high as opposition parties prepare to corner the government on several key issues. Among the major matters likely to be raised are alleged irregularities in agricultural mandis, the long-standing Mahanadi water dispute, concerns over the law and order situation in the state, and allegations regarding the non-utilisation of funds allocated in the previous budget.

These issues are expected to dominate discussions in the Assembly and could lead to strong reactions from both sides.

During the Question Hour, members of the Assembly are likely to raise important queries related to several key departments, including Finance, Home, General Administration and Public Grievances, and the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Apart from this, members from both the ruling party and the Opposition are expected to bring up various public issues during the Zero Hour, which may further intensify the debates.

The second phase of the Budget Session will continue from March 9 to April 8. Political activity in the Assembly is also expected to increase as the Rajya Sabha elections are scheduled to take place during the course of the session.
