Schools inNoida and Greater Noidawill remain closed for students up toClass 8tillJanuary 17due to persistent dense fog and severe cold wave conditions affecting the region.
The decision was taken after theGautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrateissued fresh instructions prioritising student safety. Following these directions, theDistrict Basic Education Officerannounced that all recognised schools—coveringCBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board and other boards—will suspend classes for students fromNursery to Class 8 on January 16 and 17.
However, the order clarifies thatteaching and non-teaching staffof government, aided and private schools are required to report to duty as usual.
The region has been experiencinglow visibility during early morning hours, coupled withsharp drops in temperature, prompting authorities to implement precautionary measures. Schools have been instructed to strictly adhere to the district administration’s directives.
Parents and students have been advised to remain alert and followofficial communication channelsof schools for any further updates related to weather-driven closures.
