Chandan Gamang, Range Officer of Kalyansinghpur in Odisha’s Rayagada district, tragically died in a road accident near Rampur under Kolnara block on Friday. While travelling in his private vehicle from Kalyansinghpur to Rayagada, the car reportedly lost control and collided with a roadside tree, leaving him critically injured.
Locals rushed him to Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital, but despite urgent medical care, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. Gamang, known for his dedication to forest protection and wildlife conservation, was mourned by colleagues, residents, and district officials alike.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, examining factors such as road conditions, vehicle speed, and visibility to determine the exact cause. The Forest Department and local administration have expressed condolences and pledged support to his bereaved family.
