Rajpal Yadav Granted Interim Bail in Rs 9 Crore Cheque Bounce Case by Delhi High Court

Actor Rajpal Yadav has been granted interim bail in a decade-old Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case, allowing him to remain out of Tihar Jail until 18 March 2026. The actor’s family expressed relief, while he is expected to repay the remaining dues before the next hearing.

Bollywood actorRajpal Yadavhas been granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court in a long-standing cheque bounce case involving Rs 9 crore. The relief, issued on Monday, allows Yadav to remain out of jail until 18 March 2026. His brother,Chandrapal Yadav, expressed relief outside the court, saying, “Humme kissi se koi shikayat nahi hai. Jo bhi din the woh humare din the, ab humare acche din aane wale hain.”

The case dates back to 2010 when Yadav took a loan of Rs 5 crore fromMurali Projects Pvt Ltdto finance his directorial debutAta Pata Laapata, which released in 2012 but failed at the box office. Unable to repay the loan, Yadav faced a series of legal proceedings, including a 2018 conviction under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act for seven bounced cheques. A Sessions Court upheld the conviction, leading to an appeal at the Delhi High Court.

During the interim bail hearing, JusticeSwarana Kanta Sharmarequired Yadav to deposit Rs 1 lakh as a bail bond and provide one surety. After confirmation of the payment into the company’s account, the court approved the interim relief. The actor is expected to repay the remaining dues by the next hearing to avoid further sentencing.

Yadav had spent over a week in Tihar Jail before the bail order. His wife,Radha Yadav, revealed that the actor may hold a press conference soon to address questions related to the case. The family’s reaction, as captured on social media, reflects a sense of relief and hope for closure on this decade-long legal dispute.
