India’s Olympic badminton ace PV Sindhu revealed that she and her team experienced a frightening explosion while stranded at Dubai International Airport amid escalating Iran-linked attacks in the region. Sindhu described the moment as tense, noting that her coach quickly moved away from smoke and debris.

The group has since been relocated to a safer area, with Sindhu praising the swift assistance from Dubai Airport authorities and the Indian High Commission in Dubai. She shared updates on her X account, emphasizing that they are trying to rest while hoping for the situation to stabilize.

Sindhu was in transit to Birmingham for the All England Open, set to begin Tuesday, when the rapid escalation disrupted air travel. Thousands of passengers, including the two-time Olympic medallist, were left stranded as Dubai Airports suspended operations at both Dubai International and Al Maktoum International airports.

Her posts highlighted the ripple effects of geopolitical tensions on international travel and the challenges faced by passengers caught in transit during the crisis.
