ProducerNidhi Duttahas shared insights into the making ofBorder 2, highlighting the remarkable transformation ofVarun Dhawanas Major Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya. In an exclusive interview, Dutta revealed how Dhawan’s physical and emotional dedication stunned even the filmmakers. She described his performance as “shocking,” praising his commitment to action sequences, emotional depth, and embodying the life of a Param Vir Chakra awardee.
Dutta explained that Dhawan’s casting was far from accidental. Following her father JP Dutta’s philosophy of filmmaking, she emphasized that the heroes themselves “choose” the actor, and Dhawan’s passion and dedication made him the perfect fit. She further addressed disturbing online chatter and negative PR campaigns aimed at discrediting the actor, stating that it was especially upsetting given the importance of portraying aParam Vir Chakra hero, India’s highest military gallantry award.
