A Pawan Hans helicopter experienced a mid-air snag and crash-landed near Mayabunder in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday. The aircraft, which had departed from Port Blair at 9:30 am, was carrying two crew members and five passengers.
Emergency response teams promptly reached the site, evacuating all occupants safely. The incident was classified as a “short landing incident” by Pawan Hans officials, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
This comes a day after a tragic air ambulance crash in Jharkhand, where a Beechcraft C90 operated by Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd crashed during a medical evacuation from Ranchi to Delhi, killing all seven people on board. Authorities continue to investigate both incidents to determine the exact causes.
