In a fresh crackdown on alleged corruption among government officials, Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday carried out simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Prasanna Samantaray, an OAS officer currently serving as Tehsildar of Kantapada in Cuttack district.
The raids were conducted on March 11 following search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Court in Cuttack in connection with allegations that the officer had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to Vigilance officials, the search operation is being supervised by two Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SPs). The teams also include eight Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 11 Inspectors, five Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff.
The coordinated raids are being carried out across several districts including Bhubaneswar in Khordha district, Puri district, and Kendrapara district.
The Vigilance teams searched multiple premises linked to the OAS officer and his relatives. These include:
Atriple-storey residential building at Kesaraunder Saheednagar police station in Bhubaneswar.
Anothertriple-storey residential building under constructionat Kesara in Bhubaneswar.
Hispaternal house at Duchhia villageunder Gadisagada police station in Puri district.
Arelative’s house at Laxmisagarin Bhubaneswar.
Theoffice chamber of the Tehsildarat Kantapada in Cuttack district.
Arelative’s house at Badapaldiaunder Marshaghai police station in Kendrapara district.

Officials stated that the searches were ongoing at the time of filing the report. Detailed information regarding properties, cash, or other assets detected during the operation will be disclosed after the verification process is completed.
