Odisha to witness gradual rise in night temperatures after two days; Dry weather to continue

Odisha is expected to witness no major change in minimum temperatures for the next two days, followed by a gradual rise of 2–4°C over the subsequent days. Dry weather will prevail across the state, with light to moderate fog likely in some coastal districts during early morning hours.

Odisha is likely to experience stable weather conditions over the coming week, with no significant change in minimum (night) temperatures during the next two days. According to weather analysis, night temperatures are expected to gradually rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the following four to five days. Dry weather has prevailed across all districts and is forecast to continue till mid-February.

During the past 24 hours, minimum temperatures dropped sharply by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius at one or two places in North Interior Odisha. A noticeable fall of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius was also recorded at a few locations in North Interior Odisha and at isolated places in North Coastal and South Odisha. Elsewhere in the state, night temperatures remained largely unchanged.

Temperatures were significantly below normal by about 6 degrees Celsius at one or two locations in North Interior Odisha, while several other areas recorded temperatures below normal by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 34.4°C, while Rourkela registered the lowest minimum temperature of 7.6°C among the plains of Odisha.

Dry weather is very likely to prevail across the state from February 8 to February 14. However, shallow to moderate fog is expected during early morning hours at isolated places in coastal districts. Fog may occur on February 8 and 9 in Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, and Puri districts, and between February 10 and 12 in parts of Jagatsinghpur and Puri. No weather warnings have been issued, but residents are advised to exercise caution during early morning travel due to possible reduced visibility.
