Odisha Hikes Salary of Contractual Ayush Doctors; Check Minimum and Maximum Pay Slabs.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a salary hike for contractual Ayush doctors working under NHM, with revised monthly pay ranging from Rs 56,948 to Rs 91,467 based on experience.

In a significant move to recognise the contribution of Ayush doctors to the state’s healthcare system, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a salary hike for contractual Ayush doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM).

The decision aims to motivate Ayush doctors and strengthen healthcare delivery across the state, particularly at the grassroots level. As per the revised structure, the salaries of Ayush doctors have been increased by Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 per month depending on their years of service.

Doctors with less than five years of service will now receive a minimum monthly salary of Rs 56,948 following a hike of Rs 20,000. Those with five to ten years of experience will earn Rs 74,467 per month.

For doctors with 10 to 15 years of service, the monthly salary has been increased by Rs 30,000, taking their revised pay to Rs 80,467. Ayush doctors with more than 15 years of service will now earn a maximum of Rs 91,467 per month.

Currently, around 2,912 Ayush doctors are engaged across Odisha under the NHM. The salary revision is expected to increase the state government’s expenditure by approximately Rs 1 crore annually.

Expressing optimism, the Chief Minister said the decision would lead to improvements in the quality of Ayush healthcare services and encourage doctors to continue serving the people with greater dedication.

The move highlights the Odisha government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and acknowledging the hard work and service of Ayush doctors across the state.
