Nestle recalls infant formula batches globally over toxin risk; company says Indian products unaffected

Nestlé has announced a global recall of certain batches of infant formula after identifying a potential risk of toxin contamination, the company said in a statement. The precautionary move was taken as part of Nestlé’s quality and safety protocols, even though no illnesses or adverse health effects linked to the recalled products have been reported so far.

The food and beverage major clarified that the recall applies only to specific batches distributed in select international markets. Nestlé stressed that infant formula products sold in India are not affected by the recall and are safe for consumption, reassuring Indian consumers and healthcare professionals.

According to the company, internal testing flagged the potential issue, prompting the voluntary recall to prevent any possible risk to infants. Nestlé said it is working closely with regulators and distributors in the affected regions to remove the impacted batches from shelves and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

The company reiterated that consumer safety remains its top priority and confirmed that continuous monitoring and additional checks are being carried out to prevent similar issues in the future.
