A shocking double murder case has emerged from Odisha’s Koraput district after the bodies of a missing woman and her minor son were recovered from two different canals on Tuesday.
The boy’s body was discovered stuffed inside a sack near a canal under Kotpad police limits in Jeypore. Hours later, the woman’s body was found in another canal near Jayantgiri. The victims had been missing since February 21, and a complaint was filed at Borigumma police station.
Preliminary investigation points to a suspected love affair as the motive. Police believe a young woman, allegedly in a relationship opposed by her family, may have conspired with her associate to kill her mother and brother due to ongoing family tensions.
The suspects have been detained, and officials are awaiting post-mortem reports to confirm the exact cause of death. Police have launched a detailed investigation to uncover the full sequence of events behind the suspected double murder.
