Senior leaderMohammed Moquimon Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Congress high command during a memorial meeting marking thebirth centenary of former Odisha Chief Minister Janaki Ballav Patnaik.
Moquim blamed the party’s central leadership for thecontinuous decline of the Congress in Odisha, citing frequent changes in thePradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidentpost as a key reason for the steady fall in the party’s vote share. He alleged that the party’s downturn began after senior leaderKamal Nathreferred to Janaki Ballav Patnaik as a “leader of the past,” followed by the appointment ofSarat Pattanayakas PCC president. According to Moquim, the Congress has been on a downward trajectory since then and has not been able to recover.
He stressed that the Congress should operate according to the ideals and principles of Janaki Babu but lamented that no current leader appears committed to upholding those values.
