Bhubaneswar Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan confirmed the development, stating that the last flight to Dubai departed on Friday. Direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Dubai typically operate on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. A flight was scheduled for today, but it was cancelled on Sunday following directives related to airspace safety concerns. Officials noted that there is currently no available airspace clearance for routes towards Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other Middle Eastern destinations.
The Civil Aviation Ministry has taken the decision prioritizing passenger safety amid the unstable geopolitical situation. Passengers were informed in advance regarding the cancellation, and airport authorities confirmed that no travelers were expected to depart on the cancelled flight.
The broader impact of the Middle East crisis is also affecting western-bound international flights, with multiple airlines rerouting or suspending operations due to safety concerns. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
