Monalisa Bhosle, who became famous as the “Kumbh Mela girl”, married her partner Farman Khan in Kerala following Hindu rituals. The couple dismissed rumours of love jihad and religious conversion, saying they continue to follow their respective faiths.

Monalisa Bhosle, the Indore woman who became an internet sensation after a viral video during the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela, has married her partner Farman Khan in Kerala. The couple tied the knot at the Nainar Temple in Thiruvananthapuram and later addressed the media to clarify rumours surrounding their interfaith marriage.

Soon after their wedding, speculation began circulating online about “love jihad” and religious conversion. However, both Monalisa and Farman strongly denied these allegations, stating that neither of them had changed their religion. Farman clarified that he continues to follow Islam, while Monalisa remains a Hindu.

According to the couple, the wedding was conducted following Hindu rituals mainly because Monalisa wished for it that way. Farman said he respected his partner’s wishes and emphasised that love does not require religious conversion. Monalisa also shared that she insisted on marrying Farman despite resistance from her family, who wanted her to marry someone else.

The couple approached the Thampanoor police station in Kerala seeking assistance due to family opposition. Authorities confirmed that both were adults capable of making their own decisions and allowed the marriage to proceed.

Monalisa first gained national attention during the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela when a video of her selling rudraksh garlands went viral on social media. Her popularity soon turned her into an internet sensation. Despite the controversy surrounding their relationship, the couple said their marriage is based on mutual respect and personal choice rather than religious pressure.
