The Jajpur Additional District Judge and Special POCSO Court delivered a landmark judgment against Sanjay Sahu, finding him guilty of regular harassment and sexual assault of a school student.
The accused had reportedly monitored the victim’s route to school, eventually forcing her into a hotel where he captured obscene photographs to blackmail her into physical relations.
Following a complaint filed at the Jajpur Road police station in January 2025, the legal proceedings concluded with a rigorous 20-year sentence. The court emphasized the gravity of the crime by also mandating a significant financial penalty of ₹5 lakh.
