Madan Lal Claims Pakistan Behind Bangladesh T20 World Cup Boycott

Indian cricket legend Madan Lal suggested that Pakistan is influencing Bangladesh to skip the T20 World Cup in India. He called the decision unwise, warning of financial losses for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh announced it will boycott the ICC T20 World Cup in India, citing security concerns after the ICC denied a venue change. Speaking exclusively to India Today, 1983 World Cup winner Madan Lal said this decision is foolish and financially damaging for Bangladesh. He alleged that Pakistan is instigating the boycott to target India, while pointing out that the scheduled cities, Kolkata and Mumbai, are safe. Lal emphasized that India and its cricket board will remain unaffected, and with Bangladesh out, Scotland could potentially replace them in the tournament.
