The Indian government is finalizing plans to evacuate nationals stranded in Iran amid growing unrest, with the External Affairs Ministry coordinating the operation. Students from Golestan University and a few from Shahid Beheshti and Tehran University of Medical Sciences are expected to form the first batch, possibly flying out as early as Friday, pending security clearance and flight availability.
Airspace disruptions and unreliable internet have complicated the evacuation, though all registered students have been instructed to stay ready. Officials, including Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah, confirmed that steps are underway to ensure the safety of Indian citizens, while rights groups report over 3,400 deaths and around 10,000 Indians remain in the country.
