India’s T20 World Cup squad is focused and determined ahead of their do-or-die Super 8 clash against the West Indies cricket team at Eden Gardens. With only 24 hours to go, the team is spread across five nets in Kolkata, concentrating on individual drills and skill sharpening. Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma were seen training intensely, while Arshdeep Singh practiced catching at the boundary line under the guidance of fielding coach T Dilip.

The Indian camp faced an emotional setback with the passing of Rinku Singh’s father, who flew home to Aligarh for last rites. Despite this, the team remained focused under assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate, who emphasized experience and composure as critical for the match.

West Indies, familiar with the conditions after prior matches at Eden Gardens, trained lightly and are expected to include Roston Chase to exploit India’s finger-spin vulnerabilities. Key players such as Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd could pose significant threats.

The pitch is expected to favor batsmen, with scores around 220 likely. India is anticipated to maintain the same line-up that defeated Zimbabwe, while West Indies weigh their combination between Roston Chase and Akeal Hosein.

Probable Playing XIs:

• India:Sanju Samson (wk), Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh
