A shocking murder case in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district has exposed a failed honeytrap conspiracy that led to the killing of a schoolteacher, Raghavendra. The main accused, Krishpal alias Kuldeep, who was also the victim’s cousin, had borrowed money from him and was under pressure to repay the debt.
According to police, Krishpal, along with his girlfriend Sonia and other accomplices, planned to blackmail Raghavendra. They lured him to a village in Madhya Pradesh on the pretext of returning the money. The accused allegedly tried to take objectionable photographs to use for blackmail.
When the victim resisted, the group assaulted and strangled him to death using a data cable. They later dumped his body in bushes and tried to hide the crime.
Police registered a murder case after recovering the body and launched an investigation. Using technical surveillance and informants, officers arrested six accused and recovered weapons and evidence. Police officials confirmed the main accused had a prior criminal record.
The case highlights how financial disputes and criminal conspiracies can escalate into violent crimes.
