A significant political meeting took place on Friday at Naveen Niwas, the official residence of BJD president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, when former minister Ananga Udaya Singh Deo arrived for a rare visit following the party’s 2024 General Elections defeat. The closed-door discussion, attended by Patnaik’s political advisor Santrupt Mishra, is believed to have revolved around upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and the party’s strategic planning. Several other senior BJD leaders, including PAC members Pranab Prakash Das, Pratap Jena, Sanjay Kumar Das Burma, and Ananta Narayan Jena, also held consultations with the party supremo. The visit comes amid heightened political activity following the suspension of Patkura MLA Arvind Mohapatra, whose supporters gathered at Naveen Niwas and Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, further intensifying party discussions and internal deliberations.
