Jason Gillespie Faces Online Backlash After Questioning ICC Over Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup Exclusion

Former Australia cricketer Jason Gillespie received online abuse and deleted a social media post after questioning the ICC’s decision to exclude Bangladesh from the 2026 T20 World Cup. Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie faced widespread online criticism after posting on X about the ICC’s decision to exclude Bangladesh from the 2026 T20 World Cup, citing security concerns. Gillespie questioned why Bangladesh could not play matches outside India, drawing a parallel with India’s past refusal to travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy games.

Following heavy abuse from fans, Gillespie deleted the post and explained that the negativity and anger online forced him to do so.
