Eminent Odia singer Geeta Pattnaik was admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack on Thursday after reportedly suffering a cerebral stroke. According to hospital sources, her condition is critical, and she is currently under intensive medical care in the ICU.
Sources said Pattnaik fell ill while attending a literary programme in Bhubaneswar, where she had been invited as a guest. Following a sudden deterioration in her health, she was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital for initial treatment. She was later shifted to a private hospital in Cuttack for advanced medical care.
Doctors reportedly diagnosed her condition as a cerebral stroke and placed her under round-the-clock observation. A team of specialist doctors is closely monitoring her health. No official medical bulletin had been issued by the hospital authorities at the time of filing this report.
