The Election Commission of India has published the final electoral roll for Rajasthan after completing a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise aimed at improving voter list accuracy ahead of upcoming elections.
During the verification process, 2,42,760 names were deleted from the rolls due to duplication, ineligibility, or other discrepancies. This cleanup was part of a large-scale effort to strengthen the credibility and transparency of the electoral process.
Despite the deletions, the total number of registered voters in Rajasthan has reached 5,15,19,929. The Commission added 10,48,605 new voters, reflecting improved voter registration efforts and awareness campaigns.
The revised list includes 2,69,57,881 male voters, 2,45,61,486 female voters, and 562 transgender voters. Notably, young voter participation has increased significantly, with over 4.35 lakh voters added in the 18–20 age group. Jaipur recorded the highest increase among young voters.
The Commission clarified that voter list updates are ongoing. Eligible citizens can apply using Form 6 for inclusion, Form 7 for deletion, and Form 8 for corrections. Officials also stated that volunteers will assist elderly, disabled, and vulnerable voters to ensure inclusivity.
The revision exercise reflects the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that only eligible voters remain on the rolls while no genuine voter is excluded.
