A serious sexual assault allegation involving a Class 7 student of a private English medium school has surfaced in the Rajkanika area of Kendrapara district, raising concerns among parents and officials.
The matter came to light after the victim’s mother submitted a written complaint to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). Taking immediate action, the committee visited the school premises, examined the surroundings, and recorded the survivor’s statement.
According to CWC chairman Swagatika Patra, the complaint was received on February 18, and an investigation was initiated the next day due to the sensitive nature of the allegations.
Meanwhile, Rajkanika police have also launched a parallel investigation. Three teachers and a female assistant from the school have been detained and questioned, while police teams also visited the victim’s residence to gather more information.
So far, school authorities and police have not issued any official public statement regarding the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to establish the facts and ensure appropriate action.
