Amid escalating conflict in West Asia, China has issued its first official response, criticizing US and Israeli strikes on Iran as violations of international law and a threat to regional stability. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed “high concern” over potential spillover effects and stressed the importance of respecting the security and territorial integrity of nations in the region.
China called for an immediate halt to military actions and encouraged diplomatic dialogue to resolve disputes, emphasizing opposition to the use of force in international relations. The ministry confirmed that over 3,000 Chinese citizens have been evacuated from Iran, with one casualty reported in Tehran, highlighting the risks posed to foreign nationals. Beijing’s statement underscores its intent to work with the international community to promote peace amid the escalating Iran-US-Israel hostilities.
