Boundary Wall Collapse at Drain Construction Site in Bhubaneswar Kills Two Workers, Four Critical

Two workers died and four were critically injured after a boundary wall collapsed during drain construction in Bhubaneswar. Police have launched an investigation amid allegations of negligence and lack of safety measures at the site.

In a tragic construction accident, two workers lost their lives and four others sustained critical injuries after a boundary wall collapsed during drain construction work at Bhoisahi in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The incident occurred while labourers were working near the wall, which suddenly gave way and fell on them, causing panic and chaos at the site.

The injured workers were immediately rushed to Capital Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment under close medical supervision. Sources said they may be shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar or SCB Medical College and Hospital if advanced treatment is required.

Police have reached the spot and initiated an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the collapse. Preliminary reports suggest possible negligence and lack of safety measures at the construction site. Authorities will conduct a detailed investigation, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem.

The incident has raised serious concerns over construction safety and adherence to labour protection norms in the city.
