Actress Anasuya Lodges Cyber Complaint Amid Surge in Online Abuse Over Sivaji Comments

Actress Anasuya reported that online harassment escalated from December 23, following actor Sivaji’s allegedly inappropriate remarks about women at the Dhandoraa pre-release event.

Actress Anasuya Bharadwaj has approached the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police after facing a surge of online harassment, abuse, and threats following her criticism of actor Sivaji’s controversial remarks about women at the Dhandoraa pre-release event. Based on her complaint, police have registered cases against 42 individuals, including Bojja Sandhya Reddy, Priya Choudary Gogineni, Pavani, radio jockey Shekhar Basha, and Rajini, for allegedly targeting her on social media.

The online attacks reportedly began on December 23 and included obscene comments, sexual abuse, personal attacks, and ageist slurs. Anasuya spoke out against the remarks, framing her response as a stand for women routinely silenced in public discourse. She posted on X that despite ageist and misogynistic attacks, she would remain “unbothered, unaffected, untouched and strong,” urging respect for women’s voices.

Sivaji later issued a video apology, stating his comments were not meant to demean women and acknowledging that his language was inappropriate. The cyber crime police are continuing to investigate the nature and coordination of the online abuse.
