Gujarat Giants will aim to extend their winning streak in WPL 2026 when they face Mumbai Indians in Match 6 on Tuesday, January 13, at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. After snatching a dramatic four-run win over Delhi Capitals, thanks to Sophie Devine’s brilliant all-round performance and Ashleigh Gardner’s consistent batting, the Giants remain unbeaten so far. Gardner scored 65 and 49 in the first two matches, while Devine’s last-over heroics secured their thrilling victory.

Mumbai Indians bounced back from their opening loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, defeating Delhi Capitals by 50 runs, with standout performances from captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and bowlers Amelia Kerr (3/24) and Nicola Carey (3/37). Both teams are in good form, setting the stage for another exciting clash.

Historically, Mumbai hold a 7-0 head-to-head advantage over Gujarat Giants in the WPL, but the Gardner-led side will be eager to challenge the defending champions. So far, teams batting first have had the upper hand in the tournament, with an average first-innings score of 181 and the highest successful chase being 155. The pitch continues to improve for batting, and winning the toss to bat first remains the preferred strategy.
