Tension prevailed at Tinighaaria village under Nadigaon Panchayat in Bhadrak district after hundreds of women launched a strong protest against the alleged illegal sale of liquor in their area. The women alleged that illicit liquor was being sold near the revered Kochila Nayakani Pitha, affecting the social and family environment of the village.

Expressing their anger, the protesters seized several sacks of country liquor and destroyed them on the road as a mark of protest. The demonstration created a tense atmosphere in the locality.

Women participating in the agitation said alcohol abuse was ruining families, with men spending their earnings on liquor and resorting to domestic violence. They demanded immediate action to stop illegal liquor sales and protect their families.

Police from Dhusuri Police Station reached the spot after receiving information and brought the situation under control. Officials said an investigation is underway, and legal action will be taken based on the findings.
