A shocking crime in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old woman accused of murdering her niece and attempting to kill her sister-in-law. The incident took place in Basikala village, where the accused allegedly mixed sleeping pills into tea to drug her family members.

According to police, the accused drowned her four-year-old niece in a water tank and then stabbed her sister-in-law, identified as Firdaus, multiple times while she was unconscious. Firdaus survived the attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Meerut.

Investigators said the accused was angry because her sister-in-law had opposed her relationship with her boyfriend and prevented her from speaking to him. Police confirmed that the accused had been planning the attack for nearly a month.

The accused confessed during interrogation and was arrested. Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is ongoing.
