VISWASS School and College of Nursing Students Take Pledge of Compassion and Care

First-year GNM and B.Sc. Nursing students of VISWASS School and College of Nursing took the nursing oath at a solemn ceremony held in Bhubaneswar, reaffirming their commitment to ethical and compassionate patient care.

The oath-taking ceremony of the first-year GNM and B.Sc. Nursing students of VISWASS School and College of Nursing was held on Thursday in a dignified and solemn atmosphere at the institution’s Multipurpose Hall in Bhubaneswar.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a melodious group song, setting a reflective tone for the event. Principal Prof. Satyabhama Mishra delivered the welcome address and extended a warm greeting to the chief guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students.

On the occasion, Monalisha Panda, Nursing Superintendent of Utkal Hospital, addressed the gathering and explained the purpose and significance of the nursing oath. She emphasised that nursing is not just a profession but a lifelong commitment to service, ethics, compassion, and responsibility. She later administered the oath to the newly inducted students.

The Chief Guest, Dr. A.K. Bahinipati, Principal of VISWASS Paramedical College, congratulated the students on choosing the noble nursing profession. He highlighted the institution’s emphasis on quality education, discipline, and professional excellence.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Secretary Dr. Nandini Gharai and Chairman Dr. Pragyan Ranjan Gharai. The event concluded with the felicitation of guests and a formal vote of thanks, marking a meaningful beginning to the students’ journey in healthcare service.
