A two-month-old baby is fighting for life after accidentally falling into a burning cooking stove in Chalanti village, Jaleswar police limits, in Balasore district, Odisha.

A two-month-old infant is in critical condition after accidentally falling into a burning cooking stove in Chalanti village, under Jaleswar police limits, in Balasore district, Odisha. The tragic incident occurred late Tuesday night around 10 pm, shocking the local community.

Preliminary reports suggest that the family was gathered around a fireplace to stay warm on a cold winter night. The infant, held on the mother’s lap, slipped and fell into the fire, sustaining severe burns on more than half of the body.

The baby was initially taken to Basta Medical facility for emergency care and later referred to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for advanced treatment. Hospital officials confirmed the infant remains in critical condition under close medical supervision.
