The Odisha Television (OTV) family woke up to heartbreaking news on Friday morning as senior video journalist Nitin Dutt Sharma passed away while undergoing treatment. His demise has left a profound void in the newsroom and in the hearts of colleagues who worked closely with him over the years.

For nearly a decade, Nitin served as a pillar of strength at OTV’s Delhi Bureau, silently capturing defining moments through his lens and bringing powerful, often untold stories to viewers with unwavering sincerity and dedication. His work reflected not just technical excellence, but a deep sense of responsibility towards journalism and the people it serves.

Since January 16, Nitin had been battling a severe lung infection. Even as he fought his illness, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers held onto hope, praying for his recovery. But fate had other plans. His passing has left behind an emptiness that words can scarcely describe.

Beyond his professional skills, Nitin was remembered as a kind and gentle soul. In the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of television journalism, he remained calm, humble, and approachable. Friends and colleagues recall his infectious smile, quiet confidence, and willingness to help anyone in need — traits that made him deeply respected and universally loved.
