Surat Horror: Son, Daughter-in-Law and Her Father Arrested for Murder of 55-Year-Old Woman Over Illicit Relationship Dispute

A 55-year-old woman in Surat was allegedly murdered by her son, daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law’s father after she objected to an illicit relationship within the family. The Surat Crime Branch solved the case within hours after discovering key evidence and contradictions in the accused's statements.

In a shocking incident in Surat, a 55-year-old woman named Hamida Khatun was allegedly murdered by her younger son Parvez, his sister-in-law Shabana, and Shabana’s father Firoz Alam. According to the police investigation, Parvez was involved in an illicit relationship with Shabana, who is married to his elder brother. Hamida Khatun strongly opposed the relationship, which frequently led to arguments and family disputes, along with tensions over financial matters.

On March 10, the accused allegedly strangled Hamida Khatun to death at their home. After committing the crime, they hid the body inside the house until the next day before packing it in a sack and dumping it near a temple. To avoid suspicion, Parvez himself filed a missing complaint at the police station, claiming his mother had gone to the market and never returned.

The case initially appeared to be an unidentified murder when a body tied inside a plastic sack was discovered. However, during the investigation, the Surat Crime Branch connected the victim to the missing complaint filed by Parvez. A rope found at the family house that matched the one used to bind the victim raised suspicion of family involvement.

During questioning, inconsistencies in the statements of Parvez and Shabana further deepened police suspicion. Following intense interrogation, both eventually confessed to the murder. Meanwhile, Firoz Alam fled to Bihar but was later arrested at Patna Railway Station with the help of technical surveillance and the Bihar Special Task Force.

CCTV footage also played a crucial role in the investigation, showing Firoz Alam carrying a white sack believed to contain the victim’s body while disposing of it. Police stated that the accused showed no visible remorse after their arrest. All three suspects are now in custody, and legal proceedings have been initiated against them.
