Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated sequel Border 2 has made a powerful impact at the box office, registering a strong opening and sustaining its momentum into day two. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film has quickly positioned itself as one of the most promising commercial releases of 2026.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Border 2 earned Rs 36.5 crore on its second day in India, comfortably surpassing Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which had collected Rs 32 crore on day two of its 2025 release. The film had already opened strongly with Rs 30 crore on day one, taking its two-day total to Rs 66.5 crore.
Figures shared by the makers indicate even higher earnings, with Border 2 collecting Rs 32.10 crore nett on day one and Rs 40.59 crore nett on day two, bringing the total to Rs 72.69 crore nett. While the film has not crossed the second-day record set by Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, its upward trajectory reflects strong audience interest, particularly during the Republic Day weekend.
The film stars Sunny Deol alongside Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh, with Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana in key roles. Backed by a patriotic theme and inspired by true events from the 1971 India-Pakistan War, Border 2 focuses on the coordinated efforts of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J P Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, the film is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of its opening weekend, underlining its strong commercial potential.
