Suniel Shetty has addressed and dismissed rumours suggesting that excessive entourage expenses linked to his son, actor Ahan Shetty, were responsible for the postponement of the filmSanki, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The speculation emerged after the project, announced as Ahan’s next major outing followingTadap, was unexpectedly put on hold in 2024. Some reports claimed that financial concerns, including bills allegedly generated due to Ahan’s entourage, influenced the producer’s decision.
In an interview withLehren Retro, Suniel Shetty categorically rejected these claims, calling them rumours spread for convenience. He stated that Ahan has never gone overboard with entourage demands and stressed that any personal expenses are paid by the actor himself, not the production house. Suniel added that if any proof of such billing exists, he would be willing to examine it personally, making it clear that unfounded allegations should not be used to mask other issues.
The senior actor also highlighted the strict discipline followed by his family when it comes to expenses on film sets. He revealed that even his own staff is instructed to bill personal food or external orders to him directly, ensuring that producers are never burdened. According to Suniel, Ahan, who is still early in his career, understands the importance of professionalism and has shown no signs of tantrums or unreasonable demands.
Reports have also suggested thatSankiwas paused due to underwhelming returns from satellite and digital rights, despite negotiations with Prime Video for a bulk digital deal. Suniel Shetty’s response brings focus back to these commercial factors while reaffirming the family’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
